How to save a print-ready PDF
When the design is complete, save the document as a print-ready PDF as follows.
Please make sure the following criteria for a print-ready PDF are met
• Ensure the document's color mode is set to CMYK.
• Vector graphics, such as logos, should be specified with spot color from Pantone's color library for coated print media (Pantone Solid Coated).
• Images should have a resolution of around 80 ppi at a 1:1 scale.
• Ensure images are converted to the CMYK profile. We print based on the CMYK profile Fogra 39. Avoid RGB profiles if the color result is important.
• Convert text to paths. Alternatively, ensure the font is embedded in the print-ready PDF.
• Save the print-ready PDF in PDF version 1.4 or later. Check the box to save with layers.
Bleed and crop marks in print-ready PDF
The following applies to roll-ups, panels for pop-up walls, and sweeps for counters
• Colored background plates and/or bleeding images should extend all the way to the bleed line.
• Save with 5 mm bleed and crop marks.
No bleed and crop marks in print-ready PDF for products with textile image panels
• Ensure that colored background plates and/or bleeding images cover the entire area in the template document.
• Save without bleed and crop marks.
Our design templates for textile print media include the additional material needed for
sewing and assembly. Therefore, print-ready PDFs for these products are saved without bleed and crop marks.
Graphic support if you need help creating a print-ready PDF
If you need help with layout work or if time is tight, we offer professional graphic
support. You will get assistance with layout, ranging from simple typesetting to more
advanced tasks, as well as print originals that meet the production requirements
for large format printing. A fee for graphic work will be applied.
Important for the color result on printed image panels
We can only control the color outcome when vector graphics are specified as spot color
in Pantone Solid Coated. Then we can check the color against Pantone's color chart for
the most accurate color result possible.
If you want to ensure the color result for a critical color with CMYK values or in Pantone,
we can assist with print samples at cost. Keep in mind that the delivery time is
determined only after print samples and proofs are approved.
Colors defined as RGB and hexadecimal colors cannot be ensured in print. These are
color systems intended for digital viewing on a screen.
